The following documents have been retrieved by Vincent Fiorelli - some of which have been written by his own hand - and are currently part of the Babel Corporation under the latest project of Dr. Miyazaki. For all intents and purposes, the principles enunciated in the following documents are to be classified and distributed to personnel in constant contact with these objects and topics. The Forgotten Text is part of the gospels of the Church branch of the Babel Corporation. The ARCUS
What is it?
ARCUS is an acronym designated for ease of use on an everyday basis by most of Babel's paramilitary and engineering personnel. The acronym stands for All Round Communication and Unison System. Developed by the Reinford Group, the ARCUS has been developed to optimize the magical efficiency of individuals capable of accessing, manipulating, and channeling the energies found within the environment and within themselves.
The ARCUS allows for synchronization of spiritual and magical wavelengths, enabling individuals to channel their power together, share thoughts, feelings, and even enhance their natural capabilities beyond belief by complementing weaknesses and furthering strengths. The full functionality of ARCUS is only given to a select few within the Babel Corporation, a group known as the "Seven", "Cide", or "Cide VII", and it is rumored they can veritably shape and reshape worlds if they wish to. None have been able to ascertain these rumors, and if anyone has ever witnessed such a feat, they did not live long to share such a tale.
The ARCUS possesses different forms and shapes depending on who it was specifically crafted for, though the mass-produced models come in the shape of old generation cellphones and flip phones. The upper section of the phone opens up to reveal small depressions, small slots where Voltia is attached, allowing for the channeling and casting of Voltia Arts. Depending on the model of the ARCUS, the development of each slot, and the Voltia an user possesses at the time, the Voltia Arts they can cast vary wildly in both potency and versatility.
Sepith, Septium, and Quartz
Terms that originated in a planet located within a faraway universe, it was only by a sheer stroke of luck that Vincent Fiorelli stumbled upon this data thanks to one of his Aspects. The recovered information claims that Sepith, Septium, and Quartz are important elements in the economy and technology of this planet.
Sepith or Septium Fragments are fused minerals that can be found naturally within monsters or discovered through mining excavations. While it is currently unknown how the monsters carry these fragments of ore within their bodies, scientific research has discovered that Sepith can form naturally upon the planet's crust and in regions as diverse as their classifications.
Septium is the first refined product resulting from Sepith. By itself, it has no other use than to concentrate the elemental perspectives, or elemental aspect, of Sepith. It is only when further refined that Septium turns into Quartz, becoming not only more useful, but far more valuable.
Quartz are synthesized Septium circuitry used as components in mechanical devices called Orbments. Generally, Quartz are used for lighting, heating, communications, weaponry, transportation, and other multiple uses. However, Quartz allows the users of Tactical Orbments to cast Orbal Arts, something that can be likened to magic in layman's terms. Different types of Quartz that grow with their wielder are called Master Quartz, and often occupy the central slot within an ARCUS.
This information was repurposed for the Babel Corporation, with the highly trained scientific and engineering personnel working for Dr. Miyazaki soon devising different ways of applying it, with a little help from the Red Magister himself.
Materia, Magicite, and Etherite
Materia is another borrowed term from a different universe, which was found within the Secret Library Hyades' database. It seems this term was given to crystallized energy coming from the planet, with the major mass christened as "Lifestream", which could then be mined and refined for regular everyday usage. The uses of this materia ranged from being able to accelerate healing processes to the obliteration of large swaths of land. It is theorized that rare types of materia exist, which could summon forth creatures from another plane of existence into the material plane, though the Red Magister has yet to get his hands on any of these. If anything, this information draws a direct parallel with Quartz, though it is seemingly far more versatile and far more powerful than the lesser variant.
Magicite is a term that dates back several hundreds of years ago, and which presently shares a meaning with Etherite. The Babel Corporation has analyzed the data from the previous documents extensively, comparing samples and the atomic structure of every single piece to develop a scientific glossary of their own.
In essence, Magicite and Etherite are fragmented minerals which must be refined together to create Crystallized Ether. This Crystallized Ether can be classified in seven different types according to their Astral and Umbral polarities, divided into the four primordial elements of Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind; and the three higher elements of Time, Space, and Mirage. The Crystallized Ether is then further refined to create an unique product reminiscent of Quartz, yet with the technology of the Babel Corporation, this new product becomes a force to be reckoned with.
Voltia
... And this force to be reckoned with is none other than Voltia.
Quartz, Materia, Voltia... They are all similar and yet wildly different, as all of them possess their unique usages and their little nuances that separate them from each other. For example, while all Materia grows with their wielder every time they're employed in battle, only Master Quartz and Master Voltia (the name has been changed from Primal Voltia in order to preserve its meaning) share this quality; every other Quartz and Voltia simply allow for the usage of specific Arts, likening them to individual magic spells. A new type of Voltia has adopted the former name for Master Voltia; referred to as Primal Voltia, this type of technology allows for summoned creatures to be conjured forth into the battlefield, though this type of Voltia is extremely elusive and tough to come across.
As aforementioned, Voltia comes in seven different variants depending on the polarity of the crystallized ether it has been refined from.
Fire Voltia is represented by the color red, and is better suited for offensive applications. Dealing with the augmentation of physical strength, the capability to create veritable conflagrations to assault the battlefield, and the increase of temperature in the very environment itself.
Water Voltia glows with a vibrant azure color. It is not only applied in recovery Arts, but also in the creation of cold-based attacks, freezing zones or even vaporizing enemies through forced phase changes.
Earth Voltia is easily recognized by its brownish hue. It is mostly used for defensive applications, such as physical enhancements (body armor, layering of barriers, walls). The offensive applications include the creation of rocks, artificial landslides, and the causation of localized earthquakes.
Wind Voltia shimmers with a vivid green color, and focuses on enhancing the perception and mental processing speed of the user, aiding them with evasion of incoming attacks and the augmentation of their natural dexterity and agility. Aside from that, it is used in the casting of wind and lightning-based attacks, such as powerful gusts of wind, deadly localized thunderstorms, and even recovery Arts.
Time Voltia is pitch-black and focuses on the control of time itself. It can speed up the passage of time for a person or slow it down, altering the mental perception of an individual. Aside from that, the most powerful Time Voltia can even instantly kill enemies in a localized phenomenon dealing with the rapid acceleration of time, turning them to dust as a direct consequence.
Space Voltia shines with a regal yellow, and focuses on various enhancements dealing with movement by contraction of leylines, augmentation of effect range of other Voltia or other objects, and optimization and reduction of resources consumed to cast Voltia Arts.
Finally, Mirage Voltia is recognized by its pristine white surface, and deals with the enhancement of awareness, cognition, and perception. It is known to be one of the only types of Voltia that can provide information about the user's surroundings, including battle data pertaining to an enemy itself. Aside from that, it can be used to cloak oneself, or to alter the perception of others for a brief moment.

Impassion
Grants a burst of energy to a single individual, allowing them to regenerate their own supply of energy for a full minute. (For the sake of including a time within the Art, it lasts for two posts.)
Heat Up
Impassion's effect affects a large area while also eliminating any inflicted weaknesses. Individuals affected by this Art will see their strength returned to normal, allowing themselves to continue battling unhindered. (Cures all "lowered status" + Impassion)
Forte
Augments the physical strength of a single target. (Lasts for two posts. Can be recast to further augment the effect.)
La Forte
Augments the physical strength of multiple targets in a fixated area of 10 meters. (Lasts for two posts. Can be recast to further augment the effect.)
Fire Bolt
A concentration of heat, smoke, and light fired off from the palm of the hand. Akin to a fireball or a localized stream of flame.
Heatwave
A localized conflagration surfacing from beneath the target, engulfing them in crimson flames.
Flame Tongue
Afflicts an area with powerful flames, shooting forth pillars of fire not unlike explosive bursts.
Volcanic Rain
A localized conflagration in the skies, raining down several boulders engulfed in flames, which explode on contact.
Flare Bomb
Streams of flame converge on the target location, causing a tremendous explosion that obliterates anything caught within it.
Purgatorial Flame
One of the strongest Voltia within the Fire element. Localized magic circles are drawn beneath the target, which then becomes engulfed in four converging pillars of flame and assaulted with a series of explosions.
[V.02] Water Voltia Arts
Tear/Teara/Tearal
From weakest to strongest, single target curative Arts. The Tear series of Arts accelerates the natural healing processes of the body and injects surges of positive energy of differing potency to instantly close wounds without leaving a scar.
La Tear/La Teara
The wide-area versions of the Tear and Teara Arts. These Arts allow the user to aid wounded individuals caught in a localized area of 10 meters surrounding the target.
Thelas/Athelas
From weakest to strongest, single target revival Arts. The Thelas series of Arts is capable of bringing individuals back from the brink of death with a sudden surge of positive energy. Those who no longer possess any signs of life, however, cannot be revived by these Arts.
Curia
This handy Art cleanses the spiritual and physical vessel of an individual, eliminating any impurities found within them. Burns will be cured, poisons and toxins will be neutralized and nullified, and other ailments will dissipate in the blink of an eye.
La Curia
Wide-area version of Curia, afflicting individuals 10 meters surrounding the target of the Art.
Aqua Bleed
A pressurized, thin stream of water shoots forth with enough force to pummel or to pierce through a target.
Frost Edge
Four blades of ice surround the target before slicing through it from four different directions.
Hydro Cannon
This Art conjures forth two pressurized streams of water through the ground, which shoot forth and pummel anything in their path.
Crystal Flood
Flash-freezes the environment 10 meters in front of the user with a 5 feet wide, 1 foot thick stream of ice. The frozen stream then shatters, pelting the enemies caught within and around it with shrapnel-like fragments and shards of diamond-like ice.
Maelstrom
Conjures an artificial, localized whirlpool in a 30 meter radius, assaulting anything caught within its wild currents with pressurized streams of water that converge in the center.
[V.03] Earth Voltia Arts
Crest
Blesses a single individual with the power of the earth, creating a single-layer barrier that protects the target from physical strikes by lessening the amount of force transferred.
La Crest
Wide-area version of Crest, afflicting a 10 meter area surrounding the target.
Adamantine Shield
Negates a single strike of physical nature, regardless of its potency.
Earth Pulse
Blesses a single individual with the bounty of the land, accelerating their natural healing processes and augmenting their vigor, allowing them to retain their stamina.
Needle Shot
Plucks rocks from the environment and fuses them together to craft a single stone spike, which then shoots forth toward a target.
Earth Lance
A localized phenomenon that causes multiple stone spears to jut forth from the ground, impaling an unsuspecting enemy from below.
Grand Press
A localized phenomenon that creates a minor quake in a 15 meter circle, causing several shockwaves before culminating with a burst from the depths of the earth.
Yggdrasil
One of the most powerful Earth Voltia Arts. The user conjures forth a replica of the Tree of Life from a localized magic circle, which then proceeds to extend its roots to impale and entrap enemies in a 30 meter radius.
Ancient Glyph
The user conjures an intricate magic circle upon a wide-area, which then materializes and attracts an enormous pillar of stone woven with ancient runes and sigils. Attracted to the epicenter of the circle, the pillar slams down onto the ground, destroying and flattening anything caught beneath its mass.
[V.04] Wind Voltia Arts
Breath/Holy Breath
From weakest to strongest, wide-area recovery Arts. Channels the power of the wind to grant a burst of positive energy to anyone surrounding the target in a radius of 10/20 meters, healing their wounds and heightening their spirit.
Recuria
Wind elemental version of La Curia. This handy Art cleanses the spiritual and physical vessel of an individual through the air they breathe, eliminating any impurities found within them. Burns will be cured, poisons and toxins will be neutralized and nullified, and other ailments will dissipate in the blink of an eye.
Air Strike
A sudden zephyr bursts forth, pummeling the target with a concussive shockwave.
Spark Arrow
Concentrates lightning in front of the user, shooting forth a piercing arrow after a short moment.
Aerial
A localized tornado snatches an enemy within its deadly embrace, slicing the target to ribbons between its powerful currents.
Judgment Bolt
Coalesces green lightning into a massive orb in front of the user, launching it into a beam-like stream after a short moment.
Ragna Vortex
Wind and thunder come together in this tornado-like attack which begins with a tremendous bolt hitting the ground. This is then followed up by a massive tornado surrounded by falling bolts of lightning that fry any target unlucky enough to be caught within the cataclysm.
[V.05] Time Voltia Arts
Chrono Drive
Hastens the rate at which the targets perceive the flow of time, accelerating their perception and making them far more nimble. Affects individuals in a 10 meter area surrounding the target.
Chrono Break
Slows down the rate at which targets perceive the flow of time, decelerating their perception and befuddling their senses. Affects individuals in a 10 meter area surrounding the target.
Chrono Burst
Shortens the reaction time needed for the next action to nearly nothing, allowing the user to perform another action in the blink of an eye. This allows for the nearly instant casting of Voltia Arts which normally take a hefty amount of time to set up.
Soul Blur
Creates a crack in time, launching forth a stream of negative energy to attempt to obliterate the target. Has a low chance of accelerating time, causing the immediate aging of the target to the point of their demise.
Demonic Scythe
Conjures forth a deadly, localized miasma before summoning Death's scythe. Aside from rending the physical vessel of a target, this Art has a low chance of severing the Lines of Death of an individual, instantly cutting their threads of life.
Grim Butterfly
Localized cracks of time burst forth in a series of small black butterflies, which proceed to explode with negative energy in an area encompassing 20 meters.
Shadow Blade
Creates a distortion of time, conjuring forth a demonic sword that impacts the battlefield, basking the surrounding area in negative energy and assaulting nearby enemies in a 25 meter radius. Saps positive energy from the targets, purifying and injecting a minimal amount of the enemy's vitality into the user.

Fortuna
Control of the leylines in the environment grants individuals surrounding the wielder in a 5 meter area heightened magical prowess as well as a single-layer barrier lessening the influence of magical energies and attacks.
Seraphic Ring
Blesses targets in a wide-area with positive energy taking on the shape of a shimmering ring of pure light. Targets caught beneath the ring see their vitality restored and their natural healing processes vastly enhanced, allowing them to stay in the battlefield for longer.
Golden Sphere
Employs the leylines in the environment to conjure forth three spheres of positive energy, utilizing them to explode in a burst of concussive shockwaves near an enemy.
Dark Matter
Controls gravity within the environment to create a minor singularity, drawing enemies toward it and damaging them with bursts of negative energy in a 10 meter area.
Cross Crusade
Manipulates the leylines within the land to conjure forth a cross shimmering with purifying, sacred energy, burning enemies and wholly eliminating demons in a 20 meter radius.
Altair Cannon
Rains bursts of positive energy in the form of sacred fire from the skies, severing the magical defenses of enemies and reducing their magical prowess.

Analyze
Reveals battle-relevant information about the target to the user. Some targets are immune to this Voltia.
Saintly Force
Enhances the strength, endurance, and dexterity of a single target with positive energy, altering their perception and augmenting their vitality.
Crescent Mirror
Grants the power of the crescent moon to targets surrounding the user, allowing them to reflect a single magical attack (1 Art), and increasing the potency of their Arts (for two posts).
Luminous Ray
A powerful concentration of positive energy in the form of a stream of light shoots forth, blazing a path that burns enemies in it.
Silver Thorn
Six silver blades fall from the skies, drawing a Star of David upon a 10 meter radius, after which positive energy bursts forth in a burning flash of light.
Phantom Phobia
Manipulates the negative energies in the battlefield to conjure forth a massive skull, which proceeds to sap the life force of nearby enemies and lower their strength, vitality, or dexterity.
Claiomh Solarion
Draws forth a magic circle from which a massive armored hand surfaces. After concentrating enough power in its palm, the hand opens up to shoot forth a tremendous beam of light, which causes a veritable cataclysm upon touching down.

As of yet unable to be replicated, given the original Arts are yet to be encountered. That said, specific pieces of information uncovered by the Red Magister point to a select series of Arts locked away, which only reveal themselves to the most fervent pursuer of certain qualities. Sol Eruption: Said to be born from the 'Searing Sun', a mixture of Fire, Space, and Wind elemental qualities. Nobody knows where the original Art rests, or how to craft the Voltia to access it.
Tempestuous Roar: Said to be born from the 'Roaring Dragon', a mixture of Earth, Water, and Wind elemental qualities. Now, where could something like that be found...?
