"How long have I been sleep..." the black-haired philosopher whispered groggily, his elongated fingers rubbing gingerly against his temples. "Well? Hello?"
"I fear you may not believe my answer." someone replied, from somewhere. There was absolutely nothing around him but an anachronistic white void that seemed still and immutable.
"...who are you. Where am I? Wait..."
The man, once sleep, had yet to move anything but his arms to rub the sides of his head and raise his upper torso from the flat ground beneath him that seemed as endless as the world around him.
"How did I know to ask you that..."
"Welcome, Law. You have become an Eternal. How does it feel to exist at the precipice of time itself?"
An eternal. Eternalism. Were the previous ever-changing theories of time he had personally observed correct, then he had finally reached it. Indeed, all points of time were equally real, the past, the present, the future, existing in different directions of different measurements that inevitably were linked to one defining principle: infininty. It all began to come back to him, his meticulous research, his pursuit of the Altar of Heaven*, and even his contrite as he watched the world fall apart, everything crumbling into nothingness as he was hurled into the metaphorical blender. With what he had observed, there was only one possible conclusion as to where he actually was.
"If the flow of time didn't have an objective sense, the world would have experienced all moments of it's life simultaneously...that means that I actually am standing in the center of time itself. These events are analogous with the compendium written by Creon..." Law began to ramble aloud, his left hand rising to strike his chin thoughtfully. "Everything exists here, and nothing at once. Meaning this is The White Void?"
"Correct." a hollow voice echoed, but this time from a specific direction. Taken by surprise, Law spun on the ball of his left foot pointed his finger in the direction from which the voice derived. Anyone who knew anything about Law's capabilities knew he was a walking bomb that could destroy most with but a point of his finger.
What he'd come to see, however, would be an even bigger surprise than the discovery of The Cradle itself.
"What the...you..."
"Hey!"
Law, the Gun Forgotten to Time, was revered across the cosmos for his work as an agent of a mysterious organization under the command of the Technocrats, but had long since abandoned his duties and come to research the world in hopes of achieving that which most would never understand. Born from a mundane world in a time of war and terror, his people battled many other factions across the stars in hopes of dominance, and eventually, the unification that would lead to peace and balance. Some would say they achieved their goal to some degree, but Law argued that the silence of the stars was nothing more than an omen of disaster, and while having previously been dispatched to kill a man— no a God, he elicited the virtues of his reasoning: why had he become a gunslinger? An agent of Ouroborus? It was simple, to save the world, to save his people, to save everything...yet when he came in-contact with his target, he could feel nothing but love, light, and grace emanating from it's soul. It was a soul certainly commanding and powerful, but it was far more complicated than than that of a God. Who could, with their mere presence, convince Law to leave the Technocrats and search for answers on a powerful journey of moralistic value?
Adell Illiandes Laemington, the God Dragon, and allegedly 'The Flame of Purity'. With a simple smile, the white-haired giant raised his hand out to shake Law's own, to which a much surprised Law declined in surprise. Completely stunned by what it was that his eyes saw, his hazel eyes were devoured by Adell's own opalescent eyes that literally crushed him under their harmless gaze.
"H-how..." Law mumbled.
"Surprised?" Adell teased, patting Law's shoulder like a mentor would do their student in comfort. "This place has no name, but as the first man who discovered that this place could even exist named it the Cradle, but you could actually call this place Babylon. It's where everything and nothing exists all at once, but you could also say this place is the end...I can't quite explain it..."
Law, still having an implacable appetite in light of the series of revelations since his waking, had more to swallow than he believed he could possibly bear. Seconds later, other figures appeared, though far more obscure than Adell's own, they lacked definition and seemed far away, but their footsteps were far closer than the distance Law estimated.
"Who are-"
"They're others who have reached this place. You've come here for a reason, ya' know?" Adell smiled, turning his head to obscure figures that closed in quicker than their feet actually moved. "The world, they call us The Apostles, but I have a cooler name for people like us to exist in a world like this."
Law's eyes, distracted by the figures closing in, fell back on Adell himself, who had turned his back to greet his friends.
"We are The Eternals. Welcome home, Law. We've been waiting for you."
