This wouldn't be the first time that Adell Illiandes Laemington would rush into the fires of war only to be reasonably disappointed. After shattering through the defenses of the mobile airship itself and issuing a declaration of slaughter to any in their way - everyone else sprang their traps. In a matter of movements the slaughter had begun, and it wasn't by Adell's hands either. No no, when everything was over, the white-haired titan laughed heartily from above where finally Elijah came into view, visibly walking on air with no respect for the gravity of the artificially created dimension. It was true, HAVOC was something of a work-in-progress, and the only true power they possessed was in their resolve and lack of rationality, it made them a true wild-card in what would later become known as the "War of Xelphia" and the "Genocide of Gaea". The magical sigil Vincent had placed to allow for Adell's airborne relaxation soon faded, but Adell would have already disappeared, appearing with Elijah only a few meters from the Crimson Knight's assault forces.
"Hey, you." Elijah mocked, pointing at Loki Beolove, "Do I know you kid?"
"Shut up." Adell grumbled, slapping Elijah on the back of the head. "I see you couldn't resist the fires of war..." Adell smiled, the burning recklessness of a true hero burning in his eyes. "Regardless, it sucks, but we didn't get our fair share of the action. Looks like it was a false alarm after-a-"
Adell's words would land on deaf ears. In the seconds that he spoke, with his guard reasonably lowered, a single blade found itself at the nape of his neck, pressed firmly almost as if to draw blood. And what other hand to guide it than the hand of Loki himself, shaking in obvious frustration. "Your guard, master. You've had your guard lowered this entire time. Have you even been trying? Have any of you even been trying!" he exclaimed, demanding an answer in exchange for his life. Unfortunately for Loki, Adell wasn't the type to fret over difficult situations, even when his life hung in the balance.
"Uh..." Adell stumbled, a look of dumb-found confusion plastered across his visage. As imperturbable as ever, seconds past where Elijah contemplated taking Loki's head off before he could comprehend his own death, but he knew what the consequences would be if he harmed anything close to what Adell considered family.
"Well don't sit there, say somethin' to the runt. The kid's obviously hurtin' yo'!" Elijah reminded Adell, taking a few steps to the side to lean against one of the many buildings that made up the artificial dimension where they resided.
Pankraz and the other knights of The Aesir Empire came to focus on the scene where Loki threatened to take his life, many getting into position to possibly subdue Loki should it come to it. Adell Illiandes Laemington was too important for them to allow his death once again.
"Loki." Adell smiled, wrapping his left hand around the blade firmly. With an incredible squeeze blood began to drip down his forearm. "One day you'll understand what it means to be powerful...it's a burden of itself. To sit at the precipice above life and to be revered. Most days I wish I had never attained this power. Why? Because with such power, the reason I fight dissolves more everyday. Few can stand to me, few can stand to most of us, and with the lack of darkness in the world..."
Loki was still a fledgling as far as battle was concerned, but he was an expert at understanding and putting things into logical perspective.
"With the lack of darkness in the world, you see no competition..." Loki muttered grimly, his eyes falling to the ground. Was it true? Was not his reason for coming to the Aesir Empire to aid in the destruction of MERKABAH and the Pandemonium Knights? "Then why are we here?"
"..." Adell released the blade, and Loki did the same, flicking it to the side to remove any traces of blood.
"We're here because fate brought us all here."
The Nethuamamagos War was officially concluded not even two hours into the tragedy, and outside of the military-officials who had participated in the war, and those others who were involved: the public would never know what truly happened. Covered up as an exercise for the Crimson Knights response unit's, Pankraz worked dilligently with all of the officials involved to ensure that nothing such as the sort would ever happen again...and if it did, The Aesir Empire would be ready.
"These reports look odd don't they..." Arcaneus smiled eerily, leering towards Pankraz.
"I proposed in the depths of the light that is Justice that you may come and spend ONE evening for dinner, you fiend...but do not push your luck! I AM NOT SO FORGIVING AS TO-"
"Ah hush, loser." Arcaneus laughed, truly enjoying the torture of Pankraz. "One thing does seem off though...and it isn't this report..."
"Is something amiss?"
"You could say that...what do you think about those guys? Aethera State right? But I heard one of them say Havoc."
"...could you be formulating the bone-chilling hypothesis that they are actually the enemies of our glorious kingdom...?" Pankraz paused, the spoon that once stirred the pot of slop along the magical stove doing just the same.
"Just watch your back Pankraz...something is coming. And it's not good. I've never had this feeling before." Arcaneus warned Pankraz. It was outside of Arcaneus lofty nature to concern himself with matters of danger concerning the kingdom, or even others, and for him to do so meant that an epidemic not unlike the War of Vestusio could be approaching.
"I am a Hero of Light." Pankraz smiled the smile of a thousand victories. "I shall protect this kingdom for all of eternity!"
